Toyota RAV4 making very fast rapid clicking noise when trying to start.. Earlier today I tried starting my vehicle only for it not start. It followed up with a machine gun like rapid click noise. Radio was on, lights were on and I was able to roll my windows. I was in panic mode knowing that I had 10 minutes to get to work.

I've been using 87 ever since 700 miles and noticed this ticking noise for about a year now. On my next fill up I'll try 89! And nothing has changed except going to the dealer for regular oil changes/tire rotations. But the most recent visit, they said the heat shield near the exhaust was out of place.The SA said the tech found this TSB and ordered the grease.
