I was told it was my Great Grandfathers and has been passed down a few times. I would like to know how old it is but I don't know where to find such information. The serial number is 388134. It is a lever action .22., The "Golden" was added as the gold plated trigger was also added to the 39-A line of guns in 1957. Marlin stopped using the term in 1964, but was re-instated in 1972. The gold plated triggers were discontinued in 1982, but to was re-instated in 1985. The finger lever will be "square backed" for 1939, and rounded for 1940-41.
