International 886 problems

There is an international 886 available close enough to drive home that I'm interested in. Any advice on going to look at one, or any reason to steer clear? ... We have an IH 444 and ford 3400 both gas engines I'm comfortable working on. Self service and reliability are more important than creature comforts at this point.

My father bought 2 886"s one in 1978 (Has the ih engine) and one in 1979 (german diesel) the german had more hp. he sold that one in 1980 to the neighbor which has thousands and thousands of hours with no problems at all (just cold natured).
