Imi 77gr review
Hey all looking for your experience with IMI ammo, the 5.56 77gr to be exact. I've found that my 223 wylde likes a heavier ball. The ICCA 55gr isn't bad, but it really likes the 75gr. Definitely the X-Tac 55gr and 62gr is off the table along with Winchester 62gr green tip. So what's ones opinion or other options I should be looking at that isn ...

I've tried Black Hills 77gr OTM & TMK, IMI 77gr OTM, Creedmoor 77/75gr OTM (5.56 & 223), PPU 75gr OTM 223, and PMC 77gr OTM 223.... Magnetospeed chrono velocities for both: 16" barrel, 70ish degrees, 0 ft from muzzle. Frontier 5.56 75 tap t2: 2700 fps average. Hornady 5.56 LE Tap t2: 2795 fps average.The M855/SS109 projectile has a lot of things going against it for making a precise bullet. 1) It's an FMJ. The CBC 5.56 77gr was doing an average of 2873fps out of the Krieger, previous testing of the same lot of 2014 CBC 77gr from a FN CHF 20" 5.56 chamber was an average of 2752fps.I’ve shot the heavier stuff. I shot the magtech 77gr but they were at 2,730fps. I shot the FGMB and the Sig 77gr and they were slow. The Sigs were at 2,200fps. They were so slow I thought my chrono was wrong. Now a 22-250 launches faster and can get away with less twist but once again it ahs to work under all conditions. If its a 5.56 I would go for 1x8 twist.
