SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH ON PHILLIPS RUN. (10/14/2021) Calhoun responders dispatched to Phillips Run, just south of Grantsville, to a single vehicle accident, a vehicle reportedly in the creek at 3 p.m. Thursday. No injuries reported. Responding Calhoun EMS, the Grantsville VFD and the Calhoun Sheriffs Department.Former Calhoun Sheriff Jeff Starcher is now the Chief of Police of Spencer, (shown above) being sworn in by Mayor Terry Williams. Mayor Williams expressed appreciation for Starcher as a law enforcement officer, with a great record and being highly trained. Starcher started his career in 2007 with the Grantsville Police Dept.The Keaton house, which was built by Joseph Knotts about 1905, actually faces the West Fork and the original creek road. Andy Parsons cut the trees, sawed and finished the lumber at a water-driven mill beside the house. The Knotts family also operated a grist.
