Tried the soft reset didn't help. The only way I can open apps is to go settings>apps>then open the app I want. If anyone has a suggestion I would be very grateful. Just in case anyone else runs into this, Settings> Apps> find the One UI app> Storage> clear data. You will lose your layout but everything works after.
